After World War II, the world didn’t return fully to peace. This is a reminder of two powerful groups led by the United States and Russia entered what became known as the Cold War.

Countries built powerful weapons, including nuclear bombs, that could cause massive damage. There was not large battles but there was constant tension, fear, and competition

During the First World Wars

Countries all around the world created posters with a very clear goal:

To make people feel something strong enough to leave their normal lives behind.

Farms needed workers as men went to drive tanks and learn to fly planes. Women and Children needed to learn how to farm and run factories.

Many men often young men were asked to leave to answer the call within days or weeks notice. Sometimes, families waited months without hearing anything. At home, everything changed.

In 2026 the word “Draft” has once again been strongly suggested. Like in previous World Wars some people not wanting to go to war may faced punishment like jail.

Why It Still Matters Today

Many countries still have powerful weapons.

Some reports estimate there are over 13,000 nuclear warheads worldwide. These are meant to prevent war, but Russia and the USA hold over 11,000 of the known Nuclear warheads today. It only takes one serious mistake to cause harm.

In 2026 we also worry about biological warfare which the easiest example that comes to mind is
